About Us

The Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home was originally founded as the Minshall Funeral Home in Boothwyn, PA. The funeral home was later moved to Chester, PA and finally to its present location at Middletown (Route 352) and Knowlton Roads in Middletown Twp., Media PA in 1960.

Upon Melvin I. Minshall’s retirement in 1982, Norman and Gerry Shropshire purchased the funeral home. In 2006, they purchased the William S. Bleyler Funeral Home, formerly of Upland, PA, merging with the Middletown facility. Both Norman and Gerry are lifetime residents of Delaware County and reside in Middletown Twp.

Norm is an active member of fire service and a 25-year member of the Middletown Twp. Council. The funeral home’s staff are active members of the following organizations:
