Obituary of Kenneth John Fuller

Fuller Kenneth John Fuller, age 86, of Media, Pennsylvania died on July 26, 2016. He was the husband of the late Audrey Josephine Fuller. They had been married for 63 years. Born on April 20, 1930, at 58 Corsehill Street, Streatham, in London, England, he was the son of the late Leonard and Nora (Angier) Fuller. Ken grew up in Streatham, Willesden and Dollis Hill, in London, England including during the WWII years. As a young teen he delivered newspapers while London was under aerial bombing. He attended technical school and served in the Royal Air Force, attaining the rank of squadron leader. He worked in the aviation field designing avionics for 40 years, including the Bristol Aeroplane Company, Avro Canada (on the famous CF-105 Arrow Project), Lockheed, and finally the Vertol Division of Boeing, where he retired. At Vertol Ken worked on the CH-47 Chinook tandem rotor helicopter, the US Standard Light Rail Vehicle for UMTA, and the V-22 Osprey tilt rotor. In retirement, Ken would occasionally work with Frank Piasecki, the famous helicopter pioneer. Ken enjoyed working with his hands, travel, family and music, including big band and classical. Ken is survived by his four children; Hugh Fuller (Susan) of Seattle, WA, Timothy Fuller (Lisa) of Glen Mills, PA, Sarah Lovelidge of Bel Air, MD, and Charles Fuller (Julia) of Grand Junction, CO. Ken enjoyed his eight grandchildren and was thrilled at the recent birth of his first great-grandchild. Ken will be greatly missed by all. Funeral Service: Friday, July 29th at 2:00 pm at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063 Visitation: Friday, July 29th from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home. Interment: St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Concordville, PA. Memorial contributions may be donated to a Charity of the Donor's Choice or the Alzheimer's Association.
