Obituary of James R. Dawson

James R. Dawson, "Jimmy" age 66, of Linwood, PA, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during Vietnam. Jimmy was employed with Boeing Inc. for 33 years, until retiring in 2012. He enjoyed the Poconos Mountains with his family. Jimmy taught his family how to love, laugh and stay humble. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, godfather, friend and the neighborhood's pop-pop. Son of the late Philip C. and Mary L. (Baumeister) Dawson; brother of the late Albert Dawson and uncle of the late Michael Dello buono. Survivors: Wife of 39 years: Donna Dawson Children: Alina (Steve Miller) Dawson, Randy (Heather) Dawson and Lori (Brent) DiRusso. Brothers: Kenneth (Lorraine) and Philip (Barbara) Dawson. Sisters: Mary (Richard) Benjamin and Anna (Joseph) Elia. Grandchildren: Tia, Steven, Ashlynn, Alyssa, Logan, Elizabeth, Brent and Meredith. Great-Grandson: Kyle Also survived by nieces and nephews Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 3rd at 1:30PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063. Visitation: Tuesday after 12:30PM at the funeral home. Interment: Private.
