Obituary of Thomas W. Imburgia

 

Thomas W. Imburgia, age 77, a longtime resident of Marcus Hook, PA, died on May 3, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was a graduate of Eddystone High School, class of 1958.  Tom was a steel worker at Phoenix Steel for 23 years and then was employed with Sun Oil, until retiring in 2003. Tom was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Claymont, DE, and a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Mr. Imburgia was a devoted Vice-President of the Borough Council of Marcus Hook, PA.  He was a member of the Lions Club, and Marcus Hook Seniors. Tom enjoyed family vacations to Ocean City, NJ.  He was an avid Phillies and Eagles Fan.  Most of all, Tom cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Finenzio) Imburgia; father of the late Deborah McLaughlin; brother of the late John, Carmen and Joseph “Chubby” Imburgia.

Wife of 54 years: Patricia Arden Imburgia

Son: Thomas (Christina) Imburgia

Daughter: Denise (Bud) Borcky

Brothers: Richard (Lisa) Imburgia and Robert (Ruth) Imburgia

Son-in-law: Robert McLaughlin

Sister-in-Law: Norma Imburgia

Grandchildren: Amanda and Paul Pilone, Jessica and Ryan Borcky, Arden Imburgia, Ally, Sara, Robert, Erin and Emily McLaughlin.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, May 9th, at 11:00AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike Claymont, DE 19703.

Visitation: Monday, May 8th from 6:00-9:00PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063, and Tuesday, May 9th after 10:00AM at the church.

Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
