Obituary of Joseph P. Devlin

Joseph P. Devlin, 82, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his wife and daughters on July 31, 2011 after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer. His last days were spent at Taylor Hospice where he received very loving and compassionate care. Joe was born in Philadelphia and graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys. He was a resident of Aston from 1957 until the time of his death. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and served as a Eucharist Minister. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Council 11782, attaining the rank of Fourth Degree Knight. He worked most of his life in the glass business finally retiring as a union glazier from Local 252 in 1994. Joe was also a member of the Aston Lions Club and served as President for 1996-1997 and was named a Melvin Jones Fellow. SURVIVORS: Wife of 59 years, Audrey (nee Houpt) ) Devlin Daughters: Sherrie (Bill) Shupe, Dee (Steve) Benehaley and Alicia (Joe) Lubberman Six Grandchildren
