Obituary of Dixie D. Dryden

Dixie D. Dryden, Jr., age 82, of Middletown Twp, died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Chester, he had been a resident of Aston for 54 years, before moving to Middletown Twp 6 months ago. Graduate of Chester High School Class of 1947. Dixie was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the U.S.S. Juneau, and was the recipient of the Navy Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed at Sun Oil Company for 18 years, retiring in 1985 as a Pipefitter Helper. He was previously employed at Sinclair Refining and General Chemical. Mr. Dryden was a 55 year member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mr. Dryden was known for his sense of humor and you could count on him for a good joke. He loved country western music, Square Dancing with his wife, and he developed the talent of macramé. He also loved animals especially dogs. He was the husband of the late Karlene (Nee Newton) Dryden who died in 1986. Father of the late Dixie D., III and Darryl D. Dryden. Brother of the late Virginia D. Bunzel, Mary D. Smith and Robert P.
