Obituary of Richard John Mathewson

Richard John Mathewson, Sr., "Richie" age 70, of Middletown Twp, Media, PA, since 1967, formerly of Woodlyn, PA, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 23, 2015. He was born and raised in Ridley Township, PA, and graduated from Ridley High School. He was employed with the Boeing Company for 25 years, until his retirement in July 2014, and a member of the UAW Local #1069. Previously, he worked with Sun/Penn Ship Building Company in Chester, PA, as a Rigger, for 18 years. Richie was not only a brother, father, an uncle, a grandfather, but a great friend to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his quick witted sense of humor, and hysterical personality. Known for his causal nature, Richie enjoyed his boat and fishing on the Chesapeake. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his children and grand-girls.
