Obituary of Catherine D. Kraft

Catherine Dreisbach Kraft of Media, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on November 5, 2015 at the age of eighty-eight at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA. Catherine was born on October 5, 1927 to the late Charles and Catherine (Cressley) Dreisbach in Lehighton, PA and was raised in Carbon, Chester and Delaware Counties, PA. She attended West Chester High School, West Chester, PA. Catherine is survived by two sons, Charles and David Watson, from her marriage to Arthur Watson. Catherine was the matriarch of the Watson family and after raising her two sons, she attended college—the first in her family to do so—at Widener University in Chester, PA, earning a degree in accounting in 1978. Catherine worked many years at ICI Americas in Wilmington, DE. Catherine was married to the late Robert Kraft of Wilmington, DE. They enjoyed traveling and Catherine often recounted their memorable trip to Spain. Independent and hard working, Catherine had a generous and caring nature, coupled with a no-nonsense commitment to honesty—traits she impressed upon her family. Catherine was a devoted reader and follower of the Bible. She loved animals, especially cats, and was known to care for the neighborhood cats and dogs. Catherine was raised with an appreciation for music and from a young age played piano and organ. For many years she was an avid golfer and member of the Dupont Country Club, in Wilmington DE. Catherine also enjoyed bowling—in more recent years becoming a competitive Wii bowler at Riddle Village, in Media, PA. Catherine is survived and remembered by: Her son: Charles Watson and his wife Susan Gale Watson of Dover, DE and their children and grandchildren: Joanna Watson Miller and her husband Mark Miller and their children Morgan, Quinn, and Cade Miller, of Dover, DE, and Kristin Watson Trout and her husband Ryan Trout, of Dover, DE. Her son: David Watson and his wife Margaret Macatee Watson of West Chester, PA and their children: Sarah Watson of New York City, NY, Andrew Watson of New York City, NY, and Victoria Watson of Philadelphia, PA. Her cousin Betty Hartman of Aquashicola, PA Her many friends. And her cat Lily. Graveside burial service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery,4020 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014 on Monday, November 30th at 10:30 am.
