Obituary of Joan E. Petticord

Joan E. (Filiaggi) Petticord, age 78, of Aston, PA, died on Monday, February 3, 2025.  She was born in Chester and graduated from Chester High School, Class of 1964.  Joan was the Business Manager for Rose Tree Media School District and then Radnor Township School District, retiring in 2007.

Joan enjoyed trips to the casino with her sister, Gail.  She was an avid sports fan.  Joan cherished spending time with her family.

Daughter of the late James J. and Elizabeth R. (Kendig) Filiaggi; Wife of the late Howard J. Petticord; Sister of the late James Filiaggi; Aunt of the late Frank Saviski, Jr.

Survivors:

Daughters: Michele (Jeff) Shetter and Kristen (Steffin) Alvanitakis

Son: Michael (Rachel) Petticord

Grandchildren: Jessica, Morgan, Ryane, Kylie, Brandon, Billy, Emma

Great-Grandchildren: Colton and Owen

Sister: Gail Mea

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, February 13^th after 10:00AM at the  Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Thursday, February 13th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery.
