Obituary of Alice E. Buschman

Alice E. (Stevenson) Buschman, age 91, of Lima Estates, formerly of Aston, PA, died on Sunday, February 23, 2025

Alice joined the heavenly choir on Sunday and can now join her loving husband, Ralph, in singing for eternity. Alice’s church and family meant so much to her. She was a 45 year member of the former Upland United Methodist Church and a current member of the Lima United Methodist Church where she was a long time choir member.

Anyone who met Alice would describe her as “such a sweet lady” She would do anything for you and everyone loved her. She cared so much about family; from large family dinners to attending any event that her children and grandchildren were associated. Any visit with her would have to include stories and pictures of what everyone in the family was doing. She loved seeing pictures of her great-grandchildren; of which she was so proud. Of course, she was always ready to entertain you with a story from the “good ole days”. Alice loved to look nice. She had the hairdresser at Lima Estates on call. She loved her holiday sweatshirts and always the matching holiday jewelry. She will be missed more than anyone could know.

Wife of the late Ralph Buschman. Predeceased by her parents, Howard and Hester Stevenson and her brother, Howard (Steve) Stevenson. Survived by her son, Stephen Buschman (Kim), her daughter, Carol Rufo (Steve), 5 grandchildren Stephen Buschman (Tina), Jason Buschman (Kristin), Jennifer Finnegan (Tim), Diana Rufo (fiancé Ryan Anderson) and Brian Rufo (Sarah) and nine great grandchildren.

Alice graduated from the former Glen-Nor High School in 1952, was employed for many years for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company and the Franklin Mint. She was tour coordinator for the Aston Seniors for 18 years where she ran numerous trips around the country to the delight of everyone. Alice knew how to put together a great trip. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years and a former member of the Aston Lioness. She has spent the last 9 years residing at Lima Estates Retirement Community.
