Obituary of William H. Wright

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Hueston Wright, aged 99, who left us on February 24th, 2025. Born on September 8th, 1925, William lived a long and fulfilling life. He was born in Eddystone, Pennsylvania to George and Mary Wright (Boles).

As a teen, William enlisted in the Marines and entered into active service on December 26th, 1943. He was a Light Anti-Aircraft Gun Crewman on the USS Texas. William was engaged in every WWII theater and most significantly was part of the Normandy Invasion on D Day.

After his service, William returned home and married the love of his life- Katherine Landis. They made a home in Woodlyn, PA and welcomed their only child, Donna. William and Kitty were married for over 60 years before she passed away in March of 2001.

William worked as a plasterer for Guy C Long for many years before retiring at the age of 62. In his retired years, he lived in Lewes, Delaware where he enjoyed fishing and crabbing with his family and friends.

William is survived by his daughter Donna and her husband James Conway, grandsons Jonathan (Andria), Scott (Lisa), his great-grandsons Brooks and Mason, along with his sister Joan Bradigan and his many nieces and nephews.

William will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

Visitation: Wednesday, March 5th after 10:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte.#352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, March 5th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment with Military Honors: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
