Obituary of Brian Young

Brian Young, age 70, of Media, PA, died at home on Wednesday, March 27, 2025. 

Brian Young, a 70-year-old resident of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 27, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family after a long and arduous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his parents, David and Beatrice Young (Rosen). He is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Janet Young (Blackburn). Brian and Janet are blessed with three children: Elisabeth Bala (Young) of Media, Aaron Young (Erin Donovan-Young) of Wynnewood, and Daniel Young of Media. He is also blessed with his sister, Miriam Clingman (Young) of Dublin, Ohio, and his grandson, Adam Bala of Media.

Brian is an alumnus of East Brunswick High School in New Jersey. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Subsequently, he pursued an MBA at Widener University. Brian also obtained his PE (professional engineering) license in Delaware.

Brian was an avid sports enthusiast and dedicated much of his mornings to physical activity at the gym, engaging in swimming, yoga, and body pump excercise classes.  He particularly enjoyed participating in 5K races and mini sprint triathlons at the beach. Brian held a special fondness for running the Broad Street Run alongside his daughter, Elisabeth. In his leisure time, Brian could be found tending to his lawn, ensuring its aesthetic appeal, or walking his dog to the Lewes Bake Shoppe for a raspberry cheese danish.

Visitation: Friday, April 11th, after 10:00am at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyer Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) and Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Friday April 11th at 11:00am at the funeral home. 

Interment: Private
