Obituary of Louise E. Bauer

Louise Ellen Bauer (Loydstrom), 84, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was a woman of immense strength and unwavering spirit. She was a devoted collector who believed every item told a story worth keeping.

Daughter of the late Knute E. and Hilda L. (Hanisch) Loydstrom as well as Cornelius (Obie) O'Brien; Wife of the late John Bauer.

Born in Philadelphia in 1940, Louise grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and a hands-on approach to life. She was never afraid to get her hands dirty. Louise lived by one simple rule: if something needed doing, you rolled up your sleeves and got to work, whether it was tarring a roof or building a fence. In her twenties, when her mother became ill, Louise took on the responsibilities of running the Sedgley Club, a historic riverside gathering place.

A longtime volunteer and Member of the Women’s Auxiliary Club at the American Swedish Historical Museum. Louise loved history and tradition, and she took great pride in sharing that with her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She assisted with the traditional Lucia Festival, Julmarknad, and various other events throughout the year.

Louise moved to Brookhaven in the 1970s, where she joined Parastudy, a spiritual community that offered her a connection with like-minded souls. She had a love of numerology, natural healing, astrological star charts, the paranormal, and was always open to the mysteries of the unseen.

She is predeceased by her daughter Louise Keeth (Mark Keeth).

Survived by - Daughter: Gertrude (Trudy) Spaulding; Grandchildren: Timothy Spaulding Jr. (Lauren Spaulding), Shannon Abboud (James Abboud), Eric Keeth, Michael Keeth, and Cody Spaulding (Stephanie Spaulding); Great Grandchildren: Brianna Abboud, Cameron Abboud, and Jordan Spaulding.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 15th after 10:30AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM

She will be laid to rest with her mother at Cumberland Cemetery.
