Obituary of Raymond Ward Smith, Jr.
Raymond Ward Smith Jr., age 84, peacefully passed away at his home in Springfield, Pennsylvania, on July 5, 2025. Born on February 12, 1941, in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of Raymond Ward Smith Sr. and Alicebel Maulsby Hale Smith.
A devoted family man, Raymond loved moments spent golfing, enjoying meals with friends and family, swimming in the ocean, spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoying good coffee while watching the birds in his backyard. He was exceptionally kind and gracious, always willing to help anyone in need. His playful, warm smile made everyone he met feel like they knew him forever.
Raymond was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, who also dedicated his life to public service as a police officer and firefighter in Hawaii. After his time in law enforcement and firefighting, he transitioned to a career in construction, ultimately retiring from his role in sales at R.C. Titter Construction Company of Media.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Louise (nee Mancill), his three children—Frank (Michelle), Jennifer (Frank), and Scott (Jill)—as well as five grandchildren: Charlie, Kaiden, Keoni, Kaela, and Kailer.
A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, July 11th at 11:00AM at The Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063, Casual or Aloha style dress is preferred.
Visitation: Friday, July 11th after 10:00AM at the funeral home.
