Obituary of Hede "Sue" W. Fissel
Hede “Sue” W. Fissel, age 84, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly a 35 year resident of Broomall, PA, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Sue was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, on October 9, 1940. She was a graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School, Class of 1959. During her high school years, Sue worked as a lifeguard. Sue graduated from Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing career included many years of dedicated service. She began her career at Delaware County Hospital as a Surgery Nurse, later at Dr. Scheuermann, Plastic Surgeon Associates. Sue concluded her career at Bryn Mawr Medical Associates, where she proudly served until her retirement.
Sue was a member St. Marks Methodist Church in Broomall, PA, and formerly a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Havertown, PA.
A woman of many interests, Sue loved traveling and exploring new places, hiking in the outdoors, and relaxing with puzzles and games. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed sewing, knitting, arts and crafts, as well as working with ceramics and making candles. She also found joy in swimming and spending time near the water. She would appreciate a crisp glass of Chardonnay.
Sue cherished her time as a member of the Red Hat Society and was passionate about her years as a Girl Scout leader, mentoring with kindness and enthusiasm.
Above all else, Sue was devoted to her family and will be remembered for her generous, selfless spirit. She was a strong-willed woman who embraced life to the fullest, always carrying a positive attitude and seeing the best in everyone she met.
Daughter of the late Franz and Gertrude (Elsner) Weiser; Sister of the late Heinz Weiser, and niece of the late Gustav and Hildegard Elsner, with whom she resided with at a young age.
