Obituary of Edward B. Kirby

Edward B. Kirby, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025. He was a resident of Echo Lake Senior Living Community in Malvern, PA.

Ed was born in 1954 in Delaware County, PA, and grew up in Wawa, PA. He was a graduate of Penncrest High School, attended DeVry Institute of Technology, and was a graduate of the ARI Institute, where he studied HVAC.

During his career, he worked for Burroughs Computers, Oliver Heating and Cooling, and was a maintenance supervisor at Riddle Village LifeCare Retirement Community.

Ed was a gentle soul with a keen wit and an amazing memory, especially for movie trivia. He was an avid bowler, maintaining an average over 200 in three different leagues. He earned his nickname “Sharpshooter” because of his expertise as a skeet shooter. Ed will be remembered for his peaceful manner and genuine compassion for others.

Ed was the loving son of the late Walter H. Kirby and Alice Jean Kirby of Media, PA and brother of the late Jane Kirby Boyce (George).

Visitation: Saturday, August 2^nd  after 10:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Saturday, August 2^nd at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: St. David’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Wayne, PA.
