I write on behalf of the Alumni Office of Saint Joseph’s University. We offer our condolences to Michael and Gina and all the family and friends of Eugene Joseph Kelly at this time of mourning. As a graduate in the class of 1972, Gene’s name will be recorded in the Memorial Book in our University Chapel. The names of our deceased graduates, students, friends and family members are kept in this book for a year. At each of the University Masses they share in the prayers offered for the deceased. We regret that we are unable to offer condolences in person.

I am sad. The world is missing a great husband, father, and grandfather. My memories of Gene are of a fun loving man who had a great laugh and shared it often.

He would try to give the world to his family and loved them dearly as they loved him in return. I’m sure he is enjoying a beer in heaven and watching over his loved ones.

My heartfelt condolences to you, Elaine. Also to Mike, Nicole and faith. Gina and Dan and to Jack and Kelly. You have a treasure in Heaven now! I know Maryanne and Daniel are glad to see him again. Heaven is just a breath away.

My fond memory is having breakfast at your home, Elaine. The memory of Gene eating his oatmeal out of the pot he cooked it in is priceless. Thanks for all the things we shared; memories I'll cherish! You are always in my thoughts and prayers. Love and hugs.
