Obituary of Phyllis Della Polla

Phyllis (Ciciretti) Della Polla, age 93, of Brookhaven, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 23, 2025.  Phyllis was born in Nusco, Italy.

She was a seamstress for five decades and was superior in her craft. Phyllis was one of the only employees who had the skill to manually sew the arm sleeves on hundreds of first responders dress coats and SEPTA uniforms.

Phyllis was a devout Catholic and a faithful parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Charity, Brookhaven, PA. Phyllis was a member of the Charitans Group and the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union.

She never hesitated to make sacrifices to provide for her family.

Phyllis lived with tenacity and strong moral code; she preached the same to her family.

Food was Phyllis’s passion and she loved sharing her native Italian recipes. She spent decades tending to her backyard vegetable and herb garden, canning bushels of tomatoes, crocheting and listening to traditional Napolitano music.

Phyllis was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.

Husband of 48 years the late James Della Polla, Daughter of the late Giuseppe Iannantuono and Raffaela Ciciretti; Sister of the late Antonio Ciciretti and Elena Alexander

Survivors:

Daughters: Marianne Imburgia of West Chester, PA, Rosemary (Dave) Allvord of Aston, PA, Lisa Della Polla of Aston, PA, and Elaine (Mitch) Wolf of Brookhaven, PA

Grandchildren: Katherine and Caroline Imburgia, Shannon and Tommy Allvord and Michelle (Jake) Price

Visitation: Thursday, October 30^th after 10:00AM at the Church of Our Lady of Charity, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, PA 19015.

Funeral Mass: Thursday, October 30^th at 11:00AM at the Church.

Interment: Private.
