Obituary of Robert V. Collins
Robert V. Collins, age 81, husband of Cheryl D. (Eroh) Collins passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at home with his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Floyd V. Collins and the late Dorothy H. Zeh (Collins, Cole)
After graduation from Media High School in 1962, Robert enlisted in the U. S. Navy where he served on active duty for twenty-seven years. After climbing the enlisted ranks to Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman, he was commissioned an Ensign in the Medical Service Corps in 1977. He retired as a Lieutenant, Medical Service Corps in 1989. He served on four different ships and many shore stations during his career. His last assignment was Head, Management Information Department, Naval Hospital, Bethesda, MD.
While serving on active duty, he attended classes at Southern Illinois University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Services and at the American University in Washington, D.C. earning a Master of Science degree in Technology of Management.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a brother, James H. Collins of Poway, CA and a half-sister, Cathleen Kent of Coeur d' Alene, ID.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James D. Collins of Easton, PA, a sister, Nancy L. Grinnan of Springfield, PA, a half-brother, Rex A. Cole of Aston, and a half-sister, Connie Mattews of Sevierville, TN as well as several nieces and nephews.
