Obituary of Christopher J. Cimbala

Christopher J. Cimbala of Brookhaven, PA passed away on January 20, 2026 from stage 4 cancer. Chris was born in Media, PA on January 4th 1977. He grew up in Drexel Hill and went to Haverford High School. He then continued his education at Temple and Penn State Universities. He worked for Penn State University as a multiple subject tutor from 2008 - 2024.

Christopher is survived by his wife Kelly Cimbala (née Nicholson). His parents Stephen & Elizabeth Cimbala (née Harder). His brother David Cimbala & his aunt Michele Cimbala. His in-laws Mary Ann & Bill Nicholson, Clare & Drew Zimmerman and Patrick & Lisa Nicholson. His nieces Hannah, Kerry & Maeve. As well as his friends and family.

Christopher was an avid animal lover and had 4 black cats Elvira, Poe, Beric, and Zelda. Who are currently yelling around the house trying to figure out where he is.

Chris loved learning and playing, computers, video games, all kinds of music, he played the cello, guitar, bass guitar and synths. In his 20s he was in several bands that played Philly and Delco bars. His last project was translating the Greek Bible to English.
