I loved going over to The Berkau's. The funniest time was when Chris and myself were going to Neumann. We had A&P together. Many students get to dissect a frog, nope, we had a big ole cat. I'd bring my huge tray with this cat staring at us over there. We would sit at her kitchen table and spend hours cutting into the poor kitty. Mr and Mrs Berkau would be in the kitchen laughing at us because we definitely weren't enjoying our task. They actually made it easier. I just remember laughing. I think Mrs Berkau laughed the loudest. I don't think many parents would allow cat dissection surgery on their kitchen table. I always felt guilty leaving because their cat was out on the driveway. Mrs Berkau was always happy, and dressed so nice, Hair done, nice earrings. But she wore her smile the best. Mr Berkau always had a new joke. Chris you had such fun parents. They both will be greatly missed, you're family is in my thoughts and prayers. I'm here for you.
