Gerhard Woitas
September 19, 1930 – April 3, 2026

Gerhard Woitas, of Aston, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026.

Born on September 19, 1930, in Zawisze, Poland, Gerhard experienced the challenges of wartime Europe, later relocating to Germany during World War II. In 1955, with courage and determination, he boarded a naval ship and immigrated to the United States in search of a new beginning.

He was the beloved son of the late Karl Woitas and Anna (Goczol) Woitas.

Gerhard was the devoted husband of Vera (Schnabel) Woitas, with whom he shared 69 years of love, faith, and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a life centered on hard work, strong family values, and enduring strength.

An electrical engineer by profession, Gerhard dedicated many years of service to Boeing before retiring in 1995. He was known and respected for his intelligence, skill, and strong work ethic. Outside of his career, Gerhard found great joy in working with his hands—gardening, building, and taking on renovation projects. His craftsmanship and care were evident in everything he touched.

A man of deep faith, Gerhard was a devoted member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, for more than 45 years.

Above all, Gerhard was a devoted family man. He is lovingly survived by his two daughters, Andrea (Woitas) Fulginiti and Patricia (Woitas) Lawton; his son-in-law, David Lawton; and his cherished grandchildren: Kerri Fulginiti (Dinh Lai), Michael Fulginiti (Heather “Mitch” Fulginiti), Amber Duquette (Ron Duquette), Jacob Lawton, and Paige Lawton. He was also the proud great-grandfather of eight great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

He is further survived by his siblings, Sebald, Erika, and Edith.

Gerhard was preceded in death by his brothers Günther and Rudolf, his sisters Hiltrud and Ingeborg, and his son-in-law, V. Michael Fulginiti.

Gerhard will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering devotion to the Lord and to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the home and traditions he helped build.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
