Obituary of Sue M. Ickes

Sue M. (Patterson) Ickes, age 65, of Middletown Twp., Media, PA, died on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at home.  Born in Darby, PA, Sue had been a resident of Upper Providence Twp., PA, before moving to Middletown Twp., in 1980. Sue was a graduate of Nativity BVM Elementary School and Cardinal O’Hara High School.  She later attended and graduated from Delaware County Community College in 2006, where she received her associate degree and her RN in Nursing.

Sue had been employed with Mirmont and Crozer Chester Medical Center.  She was currently employed by Bayada Home Health Care as a Pediatric Nurse.  Dedicated to her home and family, Sue also enjoyed bowling and her home on the Chesapeake.  She was devoted to pediatric care and would spend countless hours volunteering at CADES. Most of all, Sue cherished spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Daughter of the late John “Jack” and Kae (Wells) Patterson and Sister of the late Mary Pat Lawson.

Beloved Husband of 47 years: Craig Ickes

Daughters: Christine (Chris) Bonnett, Stephanie (Justin Krail) Ickes, and Suzanne (Nathan) Eberhardt

Grandchildren: Alex (Nichakul), Josh, Jaden, Sierra, Maddie, Gianna and Joey

Great-Grandson: Kai

Brother: John E. (Linda) Patterson, Jr.

Sisters: Karen Patterson, Kate (Rick) Weisbond, Roe (Ray) Titter, Beth (Howard) DiValentino and Lynn Patterson

Aunt: Rose Marie Wells

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, May 28th  from 9:30-11:30AM. Please arrive early enough to greet the family before 11:30AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte# 352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063, before departing to the Church for Mass.

Funeral Mass: Thursday, May 28th at 12:00PM at The Church of Nativity BVM, 30 East Franklin Street, Media, PA 19063.

Interment will be private.
