Obituary of John J. Tatarelli, Sr.

 

John J. Tatarelli, Sr., age 68, of Brookhaven, PA, formerly of Chester, PA, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.  John was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1975.  He was a Production Manager with Congoleum for more than 50 years.

John was a devoted family man and loyal friend who lived life with strength, passion, and adventure. A black belt in karate, John demonstrated discipline and determination throughout his life. John also enjoyed participating in many softball leagues, where he built lasting friendships and shared his love of the game. In his free time, he found peace in nature through hiking and traveling.  He especially found peace in waterfalls.  John was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan and especially had a love for the Phillies.  One of John’s enjoyments was his large garden that he nurtured. He was able to generously share the fruits of his garden with neighbors and friends

John had a special love for his beloved cats, Lily and Bandit, who brought him great comfort, companionship, and joy throughout the years.

John was known to spend time regularly with his best friends, Joe and Andrea, creating countless memories filled with laughter, friendship, and adventure. Most of all, John was devoted to his family.

Wife of 50 years: Dawn (Pearson) Tatarelli

Sons: John (Mary) Tatarelli, Jr. and Joseph Tatarelli

Brother: Michael (Kathleen) Tatarelli

Sister: Anne (Kieth) Pulcini

Also survived by nieces, nephews and god-children

Visitation: Tuesday, June 2nd from 6:00-8:00PM and Wednesday, June 3rd, after 10:30AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, June 3rd at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
