Obituary of Donald F. Tonge

Donald F. “Don” Tonge, age 90, of Chester, PA, died on June 7, 2026, at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Chester, PA, Don was the son of the late Ralph S. and Hildegarde Tonge.

Don was a graduate of Pierce College. He was self-employed as a CPA and Tax Accountant.

Don had served on the Chester-Upland School Board and was also Chairman of the Chester Water Authority. He also was a member of Penn Lodge #709 F&AM.

An avid Phillies fan, Don was a longtime season ticket holder and attended Spring Training for more than 40 years. He once had a birthday celebration at Citizens Bank Park.

Don enjoyed spending time at his home in Brigantine, NJ and traveling with his wife. He loved dogs, especially German Shepherds.

Brother of the late William (the late Mary) Tonge; and Uncle of the late Barry Margetich.

Wife of 40 years, Sandra (Cresta) Tonge

Sister: Elizabeth Miller

Nephews: Martin, Bruce and Bradford Margetich

Nieces: Diane Conway, Linda Dunfee, Cindy Wilbur, Angie Samuels, Mary Kay Tonge and Valerie Centonzo.

Also survived by Great-Niece, Ava and Great-Nephew, Evan

and Brother-in-Law Eugene (Marylou) Cresta 

Visitation: Thursday, June 18^th after 10:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Masonic Service: 10:45AM by Penn Lodge #709 F&AM

Funeral Service: Thursday, June 18^th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Chester Rural Cemetery.
