Obituary of John R. Walters

 

John R. Walters, age 85, of Garnet Valley, PA, formerly of Rockdale, PA, died on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Riddle Hospital, Media, PA.

John graduated from St. Agnes High School, Class of 1956.  Mr. Walters was the Head Groundskeeper at Our Lady of Angels Convent for more than 40 years.

John was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. 

John served as the Recording Secretary for Lenni Athletic Club.  He enjoyed fishing and golfing.  John was a loyal fan to the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.  He was a loving family man who adored and was devoted whole heartedly to his wife, Betsy.

 Husband to his loving Wife, the late  Elizabeth “Betsy” (Crothers) Walters; Son of the late John L. and Helen (Blackson) Walters; Brother-in-law to the late Ken Crothers.

Survivors:

Step-Sons:  Kevin (Gaby) Morris of Pacific Palisades, CA, Dennis (Linda) Morris of Thornton, PA, and Brian (Cindy) Morris of Media, PA.

Grandchildren: Kristen Morris, Rocky Morris, Megan Morris, Dulcie Morris, Declan Morris and Molly Morris.

In-Laws: Sandy (Hank), Margie (Bill), Karyn, Jim (Sandy)

Also survived by many nieces and nephews

Visitation: Friday, January 19th from 6:00-8:00PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063, and Saturday, January 20th from 10:00-10:45AM at the Church of St. Francis De Sales, 35 New Rd., Aston, PA 19014.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, January 20th  at 11:00AM at the Church of St. Francis De Sales.

Interment: Media Cemetery.
