Obituary of Joseph J. Nolan

 

Joseph J. Nolan, age 91, of Brookhaven, PA, formerly of Aldan, PA, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA, and graduated from St. Thomas More High School.   Mr. Nolan was a meter tester with Philadelphia Electric Company for 40 years, until retiring.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean conflict. 

Joe enjoyed biking, jogging and traveling. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.  In his younger years, Joe enjoyed coaching a variety of sports.  Joe was devoted to his family and especially cherished Sunday dinners together.

Father of the late Joseph Nolan and Matthew Nolan; brother of the late Mary, Margaret, Eleanor, David and William.

Survivors:

Loving Wife: Mary E. (Wisniewski) Nolan

Sons: Steven (Christine) Nolan of Media, PA, and Andrew (Barbara) Nolan of Media, PA.

Daughter-in-Law: Carol Nolan

Sister: Pat Campbell

Grandchildren:  Jamie (Anthony) Contipodero, Erin (Richard) Young, Michelle (Andrew Peng) Nolan, Rebecca Nolan, Steven Nolan, Daniel Nolan and Samuel Nolan

Great-Grandchildren:  Logan and Justin Contipodero and Reece Young

Visitation: Tuesday, January 23rd from 10:00-10:45AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 23rd at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
