Obituary of Lt. Harry Pleasants, Jr.
Lt. Harry Pleasants, Jr., age 86, of Sneads Ferry, NC and formerly of Weirton, West Virginia, died Thursday, June 23, 2016. Harry was born October 13, 1929 in Yorkville, Ohio. Harry was a decorated U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran of the Korean War, who fought in The Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. Harry was one of "The Chosin Few" who survived a brutal 17-day battle in freezing weather. He was honored with the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Award, the National Defense Service Medal and several other recognitions for his honorable service.
Harry was a field engineer instructor, working on mainframe computers with Burroughs Company in Paoli, PA, retiring in 1994.
Harry loved life and was very energetic. He found much enjoyment working around his home by keeping the yard in order and planting throughout the landscape. Harry was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling. Most of all, Harry was a devoted family man, who cherished spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Son of the late Harry L. and Nellie (Nee Haught) Pleasants, Husband of the late Georgeana (Nee Foster) Pleasants, who died in 1996 and father of the late Harry W. Pleasants.

Michael (Amber) Pleasants
Great-Granddaughter: Ashlyn Pleasants
Services and Interment will be held in Sneads Ferry, NC at a later date.
Memorial donations in memory of Harry may be made to any Veterans Memorial Fund.
