Honorable Curt Weldon and Family:
It is with my deepest sympathy that I too share my condolences for the loss of Wayne Curtis Weldon, Jr.
Congressman, as you have shared with the entire fire service world it sounds as though your son has shared with all who has surrounded him as well. The sharing of his love for sports and music will certainly have touched many others. There is only one who will really know how many lives he has inspired. During the coming days, weeks, months, and years may his good, serve as a strong remembrance, to which he really was. May his addiction be the salvation to others who struggle and need the help and hope that young Wayne Curtis Weldon, Jr. struggled to find.
May the blessing of our Lord keep, comfort, and guide the Weldon Family
To the entire Weldon family, my personal prayers and condolences are with each of you.
Larry Curl
Former Fire Chief
Wayne Twp. Fire Department
Indianapolis, Indiana

Mary, and Curt,
Thank you for your bravery and courage in the aftermath of your loss of Curt. His legacy of goodness will endure in your inner strength and conviction in the face of such devastating adversity. Curt was a good and caring son, brother, nephew, and father, who while gone too soon, did everything he could to battle the ravages of a cruel disease.
For far too long society has treated loss through addiction in a manner far different from other passing's. Often by feelings and stigmatization of the person and family. This does great harm to the person's legacy, and those grieving for their deceased loved one. No one has the right to judge or impair another's the ability to grieve.
Trust in today, and tomorrow attend to your needs, draw on your families core strength, release fears, process on your own terms.
We share in your burden, and hope by doing so to lighten it if only slightly, you, your family, and Curt Jr. all deserve and have our love, respect, and support. Rest in Peace Curt Jr.
Uncle Mike and Aunt Jackie Gallagher
Dear Curt
Gary and I are so sorry to learn of the tragic loss of your son. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Curt, it's me Janis. I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly what you are going through. I lost my son 25 years ago. I still think of him every day. It is not the way we wanted their lives to go. My son was in a car accident. He was alone and there was no other car. I think he was drinking. I am really sorry. It takes a long time to feel better but eventually you will. If you ever need to talk to anyone you can email me. I have talked to a lot of people trying to help them. I had therapy after my son died. I went for a year because that is the worst part. It is all the first things like holiday's and family birthday's. My prays are with you and your family. Just take it one day at a time.
Love you.
To the family of Wayne Weldon Jr; May the God of comfort grant the family peace at this sad time.( 2 Corinthians 1:3,4) Gives us real comfort and hope for the ones we loose in death. Please read about this hope in the Bible.
To the Welion family my condolences. You never know what to say when you lose a loved one.I would just like to say. I am thinking of your family in this terrible time in your lives.
Mr. Weldon I am so to hear about the passing of your son. I had the honor of knowing you as a student at Walnut Street. You made me captain of the safety patrol. Growing up in Darby I seen a lot of people lose their lives to drugs. Because of teachers like you, I was not one to try drugs. May all the great memories you shared with your son ease the pain in your heart. May your son Rest In Peace.
I know Wayne only through what you've written and was shared with many. Wayne has left a great legacy in your words and in his life. Thank you for sharing the reality of drug addiction. I'm so very sorry for your loss of someone so very dear. You've given such a great loss...great power.
Dear Curt and family. Addiction is an awful genetic disease. It either pushes family and friends away or the people who love them hold on tight. Real tight.
God bless all of you and your family. Hold your grandson tight and forever. In my family addiction is genetic. Hold that grandson real tight.
Love to all of you, Catherine Miller Rusk.
Dear Curt, Mary, and Family,

Dear Curt and family,
Both my father Nicholas and I are so sorry for the loss of your son, father and husband. We have struggled in the not so far past with a grandson/ nephew who was addicted as well. At the present time he is doing well but it is a struggle everyday. Wayne seemed like such a vibrant young man and caring father. His great interest and dedication to sports is near and dear to our hearts. We are sure he touched many lives by all he accomplished in this field. We both have very fond memories of you and our Darby days and will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
Nick Scamuffo and Maria Sirolli

As someone in recovery, I can not begin to say how important it is for you to share his struggles with addiction. Although you are sad, hurt, angry, lost, and every other emotion under the sun, you still were so very honest about the struggles with addiction, and plead for word to be spread about this sad and dangerous epidemic gripping our country. In your time of grief you still strive to bring attention to the needs of many afflicted with this disease. You also ask as a condolence to please help one just one addict in any way you can or know how bi commend you, for your honesty, your being so open, for publicly bringing attention to this monster taking far to many lives with no discretion. We all as a people need to speak up and speak out about the dangers of addiction and who it's affecting, EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE. THANK YOU. Again I am so very sad for your loss, and have the utmost respect for you. I pray for peace and healing for you and all curtsy loved ones, especially his little boy. My deepest condolences.
