Obituary of Billie Lois Bowersox

Billie Lois Bowersox (née Brown) 90, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Aston, PA, passed away at her residence, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017. Born September 24, 1926 in Des Plaines, IL. Billie was the daughter of the late Kenneth Albert Brown and Beatrice Brown (née Maughan). She was a graduate of Redkey High School in Redkey, IN. A longtime Delaware County resident, Billie was very active in her community. She was elected as a member of the Penn-Delco School Board and was a long time member of the Aston Women's Club, where she served as President and raised funds for student scholarships. A vivacious spirit, Billie loved life and enjoyed traveling. She was a loyal friend and brought joy to all who knew her. A lady of true grace and elegance she lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bowersox and her sisters Catharine Wyndham and Jayne Acuna, as well as step-sons Jerry and Jeff Bowersox, and her beloved dachshund, Hans. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth A. Brown (Lennie) of Chester Springs, PA, daughters Pamela Davis (Rob) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Robyn Linder (Dave) of Orinda, CA, step-son Bill Bowersox (Clare) of Chadds Ford, PA, daughter-in-law Jeanne Bowersox (Jeff) of New Castle, DE, grandchildren, Joy Broyles (Jim), Billy Bowersox, Ken Bowersox, Donna Gallagher (Mark), Julianne Gray (Mike), Rob Bowersox (Karen) and her 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her lifelong friend and neighbor Rick Wagner. Funeral Service: Tuesday, March 7th at 11:00AM at The Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014. Visitation: Tuesday, March 7th from 9:30-10:30AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063. Interment: Private In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Billie's name to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
