Obituary of Joanne Semple

Joanne Laird Semple passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday May 7th at White Horse Village where she lived.  She was born in Rochester, New York and was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Applied Science.  Her husband Richard Semple of whom she was very proud, was a graduate of MIT and a respected mechanical engineer at Boeing, until his retirement. Joanne was well known for her love of art and piano.  She loved playing piano in worship services for the numerous churches she attended over the years.  She also was a gifted artist and loved putting brush to canvas.  Her love of piano and art was also expressed in her desire to teach it to others as she taught art classes at White Horse Village and took on piano students when she was able.    Above all things Joanne loved Jesus.  She loved being in church and attending Bible studies as she was able.  She talked often of looking forward to the day she would meet her Saviour and be reunited with her beloved husband Dick.  Now that long awaited hope has become a reality.  Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Richard D. Semple and her son Dwight D. Semple.  A memorial service is planned for mid June at White Horse Village.
