Obituary of David W. Mowbray, Sr.

David W. Mowbray, Sr., 57, of Boothwyn, PA passed away at home on July 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. After growing up in the Sun Village section of Chester, PA, David was a Chester Firefighter, Local 1400 of the IAFF, from 1979 – 1990, receiving 2 valor awards during his career. He then moved to Boothwyn, PA, where he worked his way up at Pierce Leahy Archives, Unisource and his most recent position at Orora North America as Category Manager-Paper, and Manager Corrugated Center of Excellence Eastern US. Dave loved traveling and spending time with his family, especially their summer vacations in Cape May, NJ. Dave loved taking his wife on weekend getaways to new places, and nothing made him happier than being Pop-Pop to Joshie Dave, his pal and Maddie, his little angel.

David is predeceased by his mother Joan Marie Powers, his sisters Linda Mowbray-McCain and Joan Marie Mowbray-Looby and his brother Jack A. Mowbray, Jr., as well as his nephew Bradley Fitz Looby.

David is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Susan, his son David Jr. and his wife Stefani of Millsboro, DE and his daughter Jaime of Boothwyn, PA, his grandson Joshua David, 9 & granddaughter Madison, 6 whom he loved sharing time with. David is survived by his sister Diane Brown and brother, Dan Powers.  Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, July 12th at 12:30PM at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 12th after 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Private.
