Obituary of Robert M. Towson
Robert M. Towson, 75, of Garnet Valley, PA died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Towson was born September 9, 1935 in Chester, PA.
Mr. Towson was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1953. He graduated from West Chester University with a BS Degree in Education and was a graduate of Villanova with a MS Degree in Education.
Mr. Towson was employed for 37 years in the Rose Tree Media School District, as a Teacher, Asst. Principal and Principal until his retirement in 1988.
Mr. Towson was an accomplished athlete who excelled in baseball hitting over a 300 batting average. He joined the Delco League at the age of 16 where he played for 14 years and was extraordinary al all positions winning the stolen base title. He helped St Hedwig's take the Championship and was a two time Delaware Valley All-Star. Bob was inducted into the Delco Athletic Hall of Fame and the Chester High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.
Mr. Towson was a devoted family man and most of all enjoyed the time he spent with them.
Mr. Towson was the son of the late Frank Evan and Elsie Grace Murphy Towson, brother of the late Harry Evan Towson and Joan Dolores Towson.

Daughters and Sons-in-Law: Debra and Michael Miranda, Sandra and Glenn Schutsky and Wendy and Christian Ferguson.
Grandchildren: Matthew, Erin and Andrew Schutsky and Eric and Evan Ferguson.
Brother and Sister-in-Law: Ronald and Julie Towson and their daughter Lauren Towson
Sister and Brother-in-Law: Janet and Clayton Henderson and their daughter and son-in-law Megan and Kevin Ahern.
