Uncle Ernie was more of a big brother. He lived with us until his marriage. He was always very quiet, very unlike all the other Ford's. Another Ernie only habit was his extreme love for beans. He'd gladly pass on the meat and fill his plate with beans, He even went so far as to take green beans out of their shells and saving them for last! While overseas during WWII his weird food habit was to trade his cigarettes for Hershey bars. Worked very well for him and his buddies. We watched faithfully for a sight of him on all the Bob Hope shows, never got a glimpse. We were very glad when we got to se him in person when he finally got home!

He wasn't in our lives much once my Dad passed, but he will always be in our hearts and memories.
