Obituary of Matthew T. Cahill

Matthew Cahill, died at his home April 3, 2019, in Rougemont, North Carolina. He was 51 years old. Matt grew up in Aston, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield, PA and the University of Miami. He worked in the biotech industry for many years.

He was predeceased by his brother Gregory Cahill and his father Richard Cahill.

Matt is survived by twin 15-year-old sons, Macklin and Conan Cahill, along with his former wife of 20 years, Karen McGehean of North Carolina, and formerly of Norwood, PA. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Cahill, three brothers, Richard, Michael and Christopher Cahill and two sisters, Patricia Albright and Genie Lehr.

Matt was a devoted father and confidant to Conan and Macklin. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on Carolina’s Outer Banks with his friends and family.

Visitation: Saturday,  June 15th after 10:00AM at the Church of St. Francis De Sales, 35 New Rd. Aston, PA 19014.

A Memorial Mass: Saturday, June 15th at 11:00AM at the church.

Interment: Private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a college fund for Macklin and Conan. Checks should be made out to Karen McGehean and write the last 4 digits of the college fund account (8009) in the memo of your check and mail to SECU, PO Box 675, Mebane, NC 27302.
