Although it is now 2021 I still wanted to offer my condolences and share a few of my memories of Carl in tribute and honor to the good and true soul he was. My first memory of Carl was as my neighbor he always was so friendly and kind hearted .Carl was an excellent neighbor ,and since he had lived in the Media area most of his life I was the beneficiary of many a good local history lesson and local lore .Carl was ahead of his time in that he was at that time what would be considered a one man food bank i cant tell tell you how many people he delivered surplus bread and bakery items from the local Acme to.Carl also was a master of recycling and repurposing ... my preschool classroom in Media was supplied with endless rolls of paper for painting and art projects!My sons first desk was from a Carl find and every Christmas Carl delivered a wonderful plate of homemade cookies !Carl was also a very community minded person he volunteered numerous hours at the Food Co Op in Media .It also was not unusual to see Carl walking along our section of Orange street with a trash bag cleaning up litter others had so carelessly dropped .Carl had a big heart and he cared about and helped so many people all from the goodness of his heart !Ialthough i moved from Media many years ago i would try to call Carl from time to time just to say hello.He always sounded the same and i will always remember his personable laugh for its in my mind and heart kit jones

I have known and loved Carl for almost 30 years. He holds a very special place in my heart. We did lots of thigs before I moved to DE. I will always miss our talks, but I know he is happy now.

Roy, Carl contacted me about 10 years ago when I was living in Baltimore and we had such a good conversation together. One year Barbara and I met him for lunch in Media and had another nice visit with him. He always started phone calls with, "This is your cousin Carl". Sorry he had to leave us, but also so happy we reconnected after so many years.
