Sorry for your loss. He left me with many great memories. A very good guy.
I worked with George at Tinicum Industrial Park. He was a great guy to work with. He was truly missed when he retired.
To George's family:
I worked with George during his all-too-short days as a Phillies' Premium Services host. Although I've had a similar position for more than two decades (I'm half a generation older) and have worked with hundreds of men and women for longer periods, he will stay in my memory more than most because of his unfailing good humor--even after he knew he didn't have long to live. Everybody loved to be in his presence. Ironically, I never knew his last name nor did he know mine. Our name tags are limited to a first name and last initial! On Memorial Day, we both marched on the Phillies' infield carrying state flags. Beforehand, we'd share stories of our service days--his in the navy, mine in army artillery. When I viewed his video, I saw that we had parallel lives in many ways .My photo albums cover many of the same life events dear to both of us. Only the specific years and people are different. We'll miss him at the ballpark, but I'm sure you'll miss him more. I won't say, "MAY God bless him" because I'm sure God will. Jack Rybnik
Our family met George about two years ago ( even though we are actually neighbors living around the corner from one another) through my best friend who happen to work for the Phillies. George would walk pass our home and always made a point of stopping to say hello. I often told people I met one of the most personable gentleman ever. George had a great smile, a interesting story and lots of charm. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. Our sincere condolences to his immediate family and also his Phillies family.
