Obituary of Muriel Hoffman

Muriel E. "Sissy" Hoffman Retired Executive Secretary of The Boeing Company Muriel E. "Sissy" (nee Fehl) Hoffman, 72, of Glen Mills, PA died peacefully at home on Monday, August 1, 2011 with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Muriel was born in Chester, PA to the late Gertrude & Charles Fehl and grew up in the Lennox Park section of Trainer, PA. She attended Trainer Grammar School and graduated from Eddystone High School in 1957. After graduating from High School, Muriel was first employed as a secretary at Green Ridge Elementary School. She later worked for Sinclair Refining Company; Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton; and in the Administration Office of Garnet Valley High School. Most of Muriel's career was with the Boeing Company where she was employed as an executive secretary. She retired from the Boeing Company in 1997 after 30 years of dedicated service. Muriel was a member of Elam United Methodist Church in Glen Mills. She was a former member of SERA, Boeing Company's Salaried Employees Retirement Association and most recently an active member of Concord Township's Senior Citizens and St John's on the Hill Senior Citizens. Muriel was a devoted sports fan. She loved to listen to Philly sports talk radio and faithfully watched her Philadelphia teams for many years. However, her favorite athletes were her grandchildren, Shane Whalen and Paige Whalen. She frequently could be seen at one of their many sporting events, cheering them on, from their T-Ball years, Varsity sports to most recently, her grandson's college football games. She attended these events even during the time she was undergoing treatments. Muriel loved to travel with her husband Ronnie. They traveled all over the United States and abroad. They explored all of Europe and revisited some of their favorite countries. Muriel especially enjoyed one particular trip, a 50-day cruise, visiting exotic destinations throughout Asia & Africa. She always loved being near the ocean and enjoyed frequent getaways to Cape May, NJ. SURVIVORS Loving Husband of 51 years, Ronald P. Hoffman Loving mother to her daughters: Annette M.
