Obituary of Warren Dollson Scott
Warren Dollson Scott, 88, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020. He was born on August 26, 1932 in Northhampton County, North Carolina to the late Charles W. & Anna T. Scott. Warren was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Sherman Scott, then the late Elizabeth Andrews Scott; his devoted friend & companion, Hattie Pauline Hudson; and his daughter Laura Jeanette Scott. In addition to his parents, spouses and daughter, Warren was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Turner, Farris Cabiness, Viola Hinson, Maelene Scott, Frances Turner; and his brothers, Charles Scott, Payson Scott, Moses Scott, and Richard Scott.
Warren is survived by his daughter, Emily Scott DeJohn; his grandsons, Justin DeJohn, & Joshua Carter; his granddaughter, Jasmine Carter; his sisters, Anna Scott Newcomb & Pauline Scott Ogburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Warren was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Wallingford, PA. While he lived in Virginia, he attended both Calvary Baptist Church, in Colonial Heights, and Prospect Christian Church, in Dinwiddie. Warren served his country proudly and was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force & Air National Guard of Pennsylvania. He retired from the Scott Paper Company, and was a lifetime member of the "United Paperworkers International Union." On the “fun” side of Warren, something most people do not know, in his younger years, before TV, Warren played the guitar and sang on the radio with the group “Bill Haley & His Comets.”
A Celebration of his Life will take place on Saturday, October 10th at 11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063., where friends may call after 10:30AM.
Interment: Chester Rural Cemetery in Chester, Pennsylvania.
A memorial service will be held in Warren's honor at Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA for family & friends on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 1:00PM.
