Obituary of Helen C. Picus

Helen C. (nee Doyle) Picus, 89, of Chester, PA, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Taylor Hospice House. Mrs. Picus was born and raised in Minersville, PA; she had been a resident of Chester, PA for 57 years. Mrs. Picus graduated from Minersville High School Class of 1940. Helen worked at Wanamaker's Department Store as a Sales Clerk retiring in 1984. Previously she worked for Ship n Shore for seven years, Silvers 5 & 10 for five years and Spear Brothers Department Store. Mrs. Picus was a parishioner of The Church of St. Katharine Drexel, Chester, PA. Helen was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Helen was a kind and generous person who always put others before her self. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary always making sure a greeting card was received. She was particularly fond of cats and was a passionate Phillies fan. A proud Democrat she loved working the local Chester Polls. Devoted wife of the late Albert W. Picus who died in 1994; Daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Rinkavage Doyle; Sister of the late John P.
