Obituary of Margaret Edwards

Margaret Ada Sarah Edwards, “Margie”, age 76, of Upland, PA, died on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Taylor Hospital. Born in Chester Pennsylvania. Graduated from Eddystone HS in 1964. She worked for many years and retired from Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company as a Clerical Manager.

She spent her early years at Shriners Hospital undergoing multiple operations. In-hospital visitations were difficult and many times she would interact with her parents from the hospital balcony.  During her childhood she enjoyed biking with friends all over Delaware County. In high school she was involved in Youth for Christ and was a camp counselor at Scripture Camp. Throughout her life she was always involved in a local church.

Early on she was a member at the Marcus Hook Baptist Church and The First Baptist Church of Aston.  In 2006 she became an active member of Covenant Fellowship Church.  Here she found her church family and served in many ministries, Vacation Bible School and The Bridge Ministry, to name a few.

God gave Margie parents who encouraged her to enjoy life to the fullest, and the word “can’t” was not in her vocabulary. Singleness gave her freedom to serve many families, sitting children and pets. She not only served them, but adopted these children in her heart, becoming an integral part of many families. She cheerfully showed up serving the shut ins, making hospital visits, and delivering delicious meals. Her dear Sea Side Home family adored her summer visits, as she helped to manage the home. However, her most notable moments were acting out a skit for the weekly Talent Show night. Whether she was pretending to be Michael Phelps, the Olympic Swimmer or twirling a parasol and singing “On the Way to Cape May,” she brought an infectious joy to all. But for all the lives she touched there was no one who touched her life more than her Dear Jesus. To be with Margie was to be in the presence of her Lord.  She was truly His hands and feet.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Harold and Ethel Edwards.

She was a loving daughter, and devoted friend, Aunt and Mema to many children she babysat. She is survived by her cousins, many friends and church family.

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
