Obituary of Dennis W. Cronin, MD

Dennis W. Cronin, MD, age 79, of Upper Providence, Media, PA, died on Friday, April 1, 2022. Dennis was a graduate of LaSalle High School and LaSalle University.  Dr. Cronin was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and completed his internship and surgical residency at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Cronin was a general surgeon at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA, and was awarded the hospital’s first annual Horace Furness Taylor M.D., Physician Service Excellence Award. Dr. Cronin was Past President for each  hospital’s medical and dental staff.  Dr. Cronin was also Vice Chairman of the department of surgery at Taylor Hospital and won numerous awards for education of surgical residents throughout his career. 

Dr. Cronin was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.   He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen.  Dennis was an avid golfer and member of Rolling Green Golf Club for many years. 

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Son of the late William J. and Mary K. (Coll) Cronin; brother of the late Patrick J. Cronin.

Loving Wife of 55 years: F. Regis (Donohue) Cronin

Sons: Dennis M. (Katie) Cronin, Mark J. Cronin and Brian C. (Maggie) Cronin, DO

Grandchildren: Devin, Jeremy, Dennis, Megan, Margaret, Thomas and Charles

Nephew: Michael Cronin

Also survived by Cousin, Fr. Michael McDevitt and many other cousins.

Visitation: Thursday, April 7^th from 10:00-10:45AM at the Church of St. Mary Magdalen, 2400 Providence Rd., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Mass: Thursday, April 7^th at 11:00AM at the church.

Interment: Private.
