Obituary of Eleanor E. Grant Ford
Eleanor Grant Ford, 72, died suddenly on October 9, 2022, from congestive heart failure. Eleanor was a permanent resident of Chester, PA, until five years ago. Eleanor graduated from Chester High School and was employed for 50 years by the Saltz Dental Center. She was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was active singing in the choir, conducting the choir, and playing the organ for the choir and the congregation.
Later in life, Eleanor married the love of her life, the Reverend James T. Ford, pastor of the Trainer Trinity United Methodist Church. Together, they imparted the Lord's teachings through their church and their neighborhood communities.
Eleanor was the daughter of the late Cameron and Eleanor (Wright) Grant. She was predeceased by her sisters, Nancy Grant, Kathleen Grant, and Jeanette Motsinger. Eleanor is survived by her husband, the Reverend James T. Ford, her two step-daughters, Jennifer Ford, Julie Ford, step-son Jonathan (Melanie) Ford, two grandsons, Landon and Hayden, and the dog, Gonzo. She is also survived by her siblings: Susan DeGrave, Cameron (Rose) Grant, Ruth Ann (James) Taylor, Mary Lou (Jerry) Buscaglia, Deborah Schnellenbach, Donna (Paul) Baldino, her adopted sister, Patricia Hardy, her two surviving aunts, Barbara Yarnall, Eileen Pascale, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022, with a visitation from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Trainer Trinity United Methodist Church, 3705 West Ninth Street, Trainer, PA, 19061. The service will be in the sanctuary of the church.
