Obituary of Ann De La Cour Nixon

Ann De La Cour Nixon, age 94, of Aston, PA, formerly of Glen Mills, PA, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Ann was born Anna Virginia De La Cour on November 15, 1927, attended school and church in Glen Mills, and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Moylan, PA.

Amongst various jobs in the administrative field, Ann was employed with Muscella Photo Studio and Weinberg’s department store, both in Chester, PA. She was an operator for Bell Telephone in Glen Mills, PA and was an Avon representative for more than 35 years, lovingly receiving the moniker of “Avon Annie” as a result. Ann was always willing to take on a challenge – a true self-starter. She was always willing to help someone in need, paint furniture to match any décor, tend the enormous gardens her mother started at her house, lay bricks for walls and patios, travel whenever possible, save hard earned money from her beloved husband Bill and herself to send their grandchildren to college, drink vats of “hot” tea, and eat practically any luscious dessert you put in front of her while never gaining a pound – topping anything with whipped cream. She was the whipped cream of her family and will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Nixon was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Killen-Miles, Unit 87, Lenni, PA. She was active with various Masonic Auxiliary support functions.

Beloved wife of the late William J. Nixon, who died in 2017, Daughter of the late Agnes (Ahearn) and James De La Cour; Sister to the late Mary Ellen Smith, Julia Hueske, and Elizabeth (Betty) Fisher.
