Obituary of Ralph G. Cannon
Ralph G. Cannon, 85, of Eddystone, PA, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at White Horse Village, Gradyville, PA. Mr. Cannon was born in Eddystone, PA, where he lived his entire life in his family home.
Mr. Cannon was a 1945 graduate of the former Eddystone High School.
Ralph worked at Ridley High School, Delaware County, PA, for 10 years until his retirement in 1993. He previously worked at the former Baldwin Lima Hamilton Locomotive works in Eddystone, PA and Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, Chester, PA, as a pipe-fitter.
Mr. Cannon was an active member of the Eddystone United Methodist Church where he served in various capacities.
Ralph was a sixty year member of the Penn Lodge #709 F&AM, Chester, PA
He was a passionate rose gardener and enjoyed growing and tending to his roses. He loved the opera and was a local history buff and a lighthouse and clock collector. He contributed to numerous charitable organizations and was always there to lend a helping hand in his community.
Ralph was the beloved son of the late Leila and Zora Cannon; brother of the late William and Jack Cannon and Iva West; uncle of the late Louise Wentworth.
