Obituary of Marjorie Rigby

Marjorie "Cookie" Rigby (Plant), age 77, of Oxford, PA, formerly of Aston, PA passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Cookie was born in Philadelphia, PA, on February 28, 1945 to Jack and Jessie Plant (Owens).  She was raised in the Colwyn section of Darby, PA.  She was a 1964 graduate of Colwyn High School, where she formed lifelong friendships before moving to Aston, PA, where she raised her children.  Cookie was well known through her occupation of being a waitress for the last 50 years throughout Delaware and Chester Counties.  If it were not for Covid, Cookie would still be serving at Gatsby's in Aston, PA, where she loved working.  

Cookie is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Plant and Jessie Mae Metzgar, brothers Jack Plant Jr., Thomas Plant, and sisters Jessie Fields and Annette Plant.

Cookie enjoyed her summers in Ocean City, NJ; camping; gardening; and casino trips.

Cookie is survived by her children: James Evans of Port Charlotte, FL; daughters, Staci Barbone of Oxford, PA and Sherri Rostek of Rising Sun, MD.  Grandchildren: James, Jesse, and Jake Evans; Tyler, Jackson, and Luke Barbone; Gabrielle Rigby and Liam Rostek.  Cookie is also survived by Lee Snarr and Jennifer Podberesky both of whom she loved like her own children.

Visitation: Wednesday, December 14^th from 6:00-8:00PM and Thursday, December 15^th from 10:00-10:45AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Thursday, December 15^th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Media Cemetery.
