I am saddened about Aunt Kat's passing. The last of the Paradiso siblings....end of a generation.....end of an era. Aunt Kat was so wonderful and generous to have mom stay with her in Colwyn/Darby in the Tribet Place row home for those 17 months (Sept. 2009 - January 2011) during mom's early Alzheimer's stage. It was beautiful to see the 2 sisters together -- back to their childhood roles of "big sis taking care of little sis." Memories: family reunions on Tribet Place with all the aunts, uncles, and cousins (I think it was Uncle Bob cutting the watermelon but making the sawing sound?); all the family reunions at the various locations; fabulous Italian food; hemming my bridesmaid's gown for Jan's wedding in Poland, Ohio, the night before the wedding (!) (I came in from NY and Aunt Kat came in from PA); hand carrying homemade cookies on the plane to Bob's and my wedding in January 1975 - the "Paradiso rep" at the wedding; listening to her stories and having her identify all those people in old black & white photos when we were at the reunions; visiting mom and Aunt Kat in December 2009 to celebrate mom's 80th birthday; being able to attend the reunions in 2019 & 2021 for Aunt Kat's 99th and 101st birthdays...... All the Paradiso siblings are together now.

I will miss Cat very much. We spent hours together at Ivy Creek retirement. I and others enjoyed listening and laughing at the trials and tribulations of being the middle child of eleven, her days of picking fruit, vegetables and cooking dinner on a wood fire on the farm for her parents, brother & sisters. Her wit was always quick and sassy. She was unable to complete her formal education, but even at age 100 she continued to read novels and keep up with what was happening in the world. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and shared stores of their lives. Her favorite foods were ice cream and chocolate at Ivy Creek. She missed being in the kitchen and her sewing machine and most of all her brothers & sisters. Cat your finally with them in haven I’m sure. God Bless.
