Obituary of Dorothy M. Wright

Dorothy M. Wright, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Born February 23, 1942, Dorothy was a long-time resident of Media, PA.

A graduate of Penncrest High School, she was a clerical worker at Wawa Corporate. She enjoyed weekends in Rehoboth Beach with her husband Jack. She loved music and dancing and kept right on dancing, first with a cane and then with a walker, bravely accepting the challenges that came with living with MS. Dorothy adored her siblings and had a special life-long bond with her twin sister Dolores. She had compassion for all living things. Her mother would say that if she found a stray cat or dog, you could be sure it was coming home with her. Her lasting legacy is the empathy and kindness she taught her children, grandchildren and the many foster children she cared for.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hallman and Vivian McLeod, Step-Father Alfred McLeod, Step-Mother Doris Hallman and sister Beth Hallman.

She is survived by her husband Jack Wright, her siblings Dolores Meade, William Hallman Jr., Deborah Gahres and Melissa Keener; sons: Scott Mummert (Rick) of Pittsburgh, PA, Todd Mummert (Soraida) of New London, PA, Mark Mummert (Athena) of Cochranville, PA, Doug Mummert (Janet) of Gibbstown, NJ; step-children: John Wright (Stacy), DottieAnne Kinsler (Joe), Brigid DiNicola; 5 Grandchildren: Amanda Mummert, Holly Mummert, Kaylene Mummert, Joshua Mummert, Cora Mummert; 5 step-grandchildren: Julianna Wright, Ashley Kinsler, Joseph Kinsler, Danielle Kinsler, Anthony DiNicola. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, March 2nd at 11:00AM at New London Presbyterian Church, 1986 Newark Rd., Lincoln University, PA 19352, Funeral Service to follow at 12 Noon. Graveside Service: Thursday, March 2nd at 1:00PM at New London Churchyard.
