Obituary of Stuart McLaughlin

Stuart “Stu” George McLaughlin, age 75 of Media, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 24th at his home. Stu was born in Bangor, ME and formerly resided in Garnet Valley, PA where he lived with his beloved wife for over 20 years.

An army veteran, Stu bravely served in the Vietnam War. He spent his career working at The Boeing Company, utilizing his talent for mathematics and numbers. Stu’s favorite hobbies included fiddling in his workshop, playing a relaxing game of Sudoku, and sharing stories around the kitchen table.

He found great joy in spending his summers at the family’s camp in Maine, which he built with his father in the 60s. In addition to his parents, George and Rebecca McLaughlin, Stu is preceded in death by his wife Rosemary McLaughlin.

He is survived by his daughters Melissa Stevicks (Scott) and Michelle McLaughlin (Justin), stepdaughter Patricia Patterson (Joe), sisters Sandra Tolman (Blaine) and Rebecca Briggs, brother-in-law Walt Hoffner (Edith), granddaughters Mikayla Stillman (Daniel), Jazmine Butler, and Juliet Patterson, and great-granddaughter Sophie, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lima Estates in Media, PA on Monday, June 12th at 1 PM. A second Celebration of Life will be held at 36 Windy Shores, Lakeville, ME (Bottle Lake) on Thursday, July 6th at 4 PM.
