Obituary of Samuel R. Barnes, Jr.

Samuel Ralph Barnes Jr., age 44, passed away on Friday, May 26,2023. He  was born in Chester, Pennsylvania to Samuel and Madeleine Barnes. He called Marcus Hook home and was his mom’s favorite child. Two things that brought joy into Sam’s life were cheesesteaks and lifting weights.

In Sam’s brighter days, he was caring, loyal and funny.  Sam showed love with his whole heart.  Those who truly knew Sam, knew that he endured a battle with addiction, which led him down a path leading to incarceration.  Addiction is a true thief of our time on this earth, slowly robbing our loved ones of joyous opportunities and chances to make memories.  Sam’s disease brought darkness upon his life, in which he lived in the pain of each day.  Although Sam’s departure was tragic, the prison walls of his addiction have fallen down and our Sam is finally free.  The pain of this loss is heartbreaking and intolerable, which is why we need to remember Sam’s story. 

Predeceased by his Father, Samuel Ralph Barnes Sr. (1992), Mother, Madeleine Barnes Pauels (2012) and Son, Samuel Ralph Barnes III (2021), were there to meet Sam with open arms.

  Sam is survived by his heartbroken Sister, Dawn Clymer (Mike), his children Cheyenne, Hannah, and Zachary, his nieces and nephews, Ashley, Taylor, and Michael Jr. Sam is also survived by his loving cousins, who always answered his calls, Carrie Davis and Joe Marvel. 

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 9th at 1:00PM at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Collingdale, PA.
